Joining Good Deeds Week with ConnecTLV : 3-8 March, 2013

Every day is a new opportunity to do something for yourself and for someone else. But it’s not every day that we have the opportunity to do a good deed along with hundreds of thousands of volunteers around the world."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." (Winston Churchill)We are inviting you to take part in the national initiative: "Good Deeds Day" (http://www.good-deeds-day.org.il/), which will be held this year on 5 March 2013.In order to allow as many ConnecTLV members as possible to take part in this unique event, we decided to expand it to a whole week! What can you do to get involved? There are lots of options - just choose :-)1 - Volunteering- send an email to Eyal: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , and tell him what you are interested in volunteering during the week in question (3-8 March), and we'll get back to you with suggestions. Registration deadline: Tuesday, 26 February, 09:00. * Please note that as we get closer to the "Good deeds day" (5.3), the volunteering options are dwindling due to high national demand.2 - Run a voluntary activity- send an email to Eyal: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. suggesting a voluntary activity/ies you wish to offer based on your own experiences or knowledge. It can be a lecture, professional lesson or any kind of enrichment activity. We will help you to carry out the event with the help of the Good Deeds Day umbrella organization, 'Good Spirit' and will help with the publication and marketing of the activity. Deadline for emailing your suggestions: Tuesday, 26 February, 09:00.3- Donate used clothing and second-hand books – these items will be given to two nonprofit organizations: "Alut" (http://www.alut.org.il/) – The Israeli Society for Autistic Children, and "Sipur Hozer" (http://www.rebooks.org.il/) – a social project which encourages the use of second-hand books. The project operates by people with special needs, in order to provide them with equal employment opportunity. Collection will take place at the ConnecTLV lounge (Hachashmonaim 99, Tel Aviv) every day until Thursday, 7 March.
